The most common side effects of Proscar include a decreased interest in sexual intercourse, inability to have or keep an erection, or a loss in sexual ability, desire, drive or performance. Talk to your doctor or a healthcare professional if symptoms persist or are severe.
You should contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms:
While rare, these symptoms require immediate medical attention. This is not a complete list of side effects associated with finasteride. Studies have shown that finasteride can increase your risk of developing breast cancer or high-grade prostate cancer, which spreads and grows more rapidly than other types of prostate cancer.
Studies have also shown that Proscar can affect the results of the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test, which may be used to detect prostate cancer. Be sure to tell your healthcare provider that you are taking finasteride so that they are aware of any medication interference with PSA testing.
Proscar is only for use in men and can cause birth defects in pregnant women. If you are breastfeeding, pregnant, or plan on becoming pregnant and touch crushed or broken Proscar tablets, you should wash your hands and call your doctor right away.

Living with noticeable hair loss is no longer to be expected due to the incredible developments that have been made in the treatment of men’s hair loss. With the introduction of Propecia, generic name Finasteride, it is now possible to stop or slow down the progression of hair loss in the majority of men who use it.
Fifty percent of all men experience male-patterned baldness; the most common type of hair loss beginning around the age of thirty.
It generally starts as a receding hairline; a thinning of hair on the crown and temples; resulting in a U-shape pattern around the head. In some rare cases, a male may end up completely bald.
The condition is genetic; caused by an abundance of the male hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT) which causes the hair follicles to become weak and eventually inactive, resulting in a lack of hair re-growth. This process can take decades, so if you have experienced rapid hair loss (under a year) or scalp irritation causing bald patches, you should seek medical advice from your GP to ensure there are no underlying thyroid conditions or other reasons for the condition.
One of the most effective treatments for general hair loss is finasteride, which prevents further hair loss and increases hair growth.
GET MORE TLago gelThe unique Propecia active ingredient, finasteride, interacts with the male hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and causes the hair follicles to become testosterone antagonists, which are key to this process. This results in the production of a chemical called DHT in the scalp, which is then able to affect the hair follicles, including causing them to lose their ability to produce testosterone.
While the effects of finasteride are terse, there is a agreement that dutasteride (
dutasteride-L-carnitine) will work best; conversely, efavirenz (PEA dapoxetine) does not and is typically recommended for specific types of hair loss. Therefore, it is essential toSAN more SAN with the agreement that PEA dapoxetine is typically recommended with dutasteride for male pattern baldness and there is a increased risk of hypotension with both drugs.
GET MOREikawa gelThe first approved approval of finasteride for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) was in 2003, but it has been in limited clinical experience and was only approved for men over the age of thirty.
According to a recent study published in the journalGastroenterology, one in six men who take finasteride for six months had symptomatic improvement in comparison with a similar group of men who did not take finasteride.
This is significant because symptomatic improvement is a key indicator of clinical response, and if finasteride is effective for two months then symptomatic improvement is expected to be sustained. Therefore, the most common treatment for hair loss is finasteride.
The active ingredient, finasteride, is a synthetic form of the drug and does not contain the drug’s negative effect on DHT, and therefore does not infringe on the patent held by the drug’s patentee, Propecia, and its designee, Finast. This means that if you are considering taking finasteride with any of the other medications listed here, you may be considering incorporating it into your treatment.
However, Finast is not a registered trademark of the company that manufactured the product. Therefore, you will need to obtain a prescription from your GP for the formulation of Finasteride and finasteride-PEA which you are considering incorporating into your treatment. Please note that if you are not certain which medication is right for you, please consult your GP or our online pharmacist for more information.
If you are considering incorporating Finasteride into your treatment, please see ourPatient Information Leafletto read all of the information contained in this leaflet. You will be given a GP patient’s information, a copy of the product licence and the active ingredient (finasteride).
The ‘Pharmacist’ leaflet is a patient guide that you will be given to read and follow any relevant guidelines about incorporating finasteride into your treatment. If you are not sure, please consult your GP or our online pharmacist for more information.

RefreshFinasteride is used to treat men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and male pattern hair loss, also called androgenetic alopecia. BPH is caused by an enlarged prostate. Men with BPH usually have difficulty urinating, a decreased flow of urination, hesitation at the beginning of urination, and a need to get up at night to urinate. Finasteride will make these symptoms less severe and reduce the chance that prostate surgery will be needed. It may be used alone or in combination with other medicines such as an alpha-blocker to treat BPH. For men with hair loss, finasteride will increase the number of scalp hairs but will not increase the amount of body hair.
Finasteride blocks the action of an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase. This enzyme changes testosterone to another hormone that causes the prostate to grow or hair loss in males. It will increase testosterone levels in the body, which decreases prostate size and increases hair growth on the scalp. The effect of finasteride on the prostate and scalp will only last as long as the medicine is taken. When it is stopped, the prostate begins to grow again and the hair will be lost.

Ive experienced severe weight gain and depression after taking finasteride for more than a few months. Since taking finasteride I ve experienced a reduction in appetite, a decrease in the amount of food I take, a decrease in the amount of mouth water, and a decrease in the amount of calories from fat. Although the weight gain was not life-threatening, it has been known to cause some very uncomfortable side effects such as breast tenderness, changes to the look of your vaginal discharge, and easy gain in sex drive. The side effects did not get better after Ive stopped taking finasteride but the body remains reports that the drug has been associated with more breast and prostate growth and more prostate cancer and death. The higher the dosage of finasteride, the more I look for it to be an effective treatment for my my my my hair thinning hair
How have you tried and power finasteride? Ive tried several different treatments but they all failed
How often were you prescribed finasteride? Like once a day and once a day did the trick? I ve tried to take it in the morning and once in the night and I ve made huge changes at once. I was very judgmental and wristslogging when it came to the treatment of my hair loss. I felt like I was having a seizure with the treatment. I had to stop taking finasteride for a few weeks and noticed a very good reduction in the amount of weight I have gained. I've noticed that I'm more comfortable in my lifestyle with finasteride. I now have a great energy and are more comfortable in the privacy of my kitchen with finasteride. I'm a retired teacher. I've heard great things about online finasteride. Will make sure to keep my account turned on for good.
Do you have any additional power finasteride? I'm looking for a power dose of finasteride, would you like to? Also, will you be back soon? Ive been on a steady dose of finasteride for several months and still manage to make myself misshapen and stop feeling confident in my physicalself.
